This scholarship was started in 2004 by Jan Hone’s family and CUPE 1594, her union local, to honour Jan’s memory and provide a lasting legacy for her.  Jan worked at Regina Public Library for over 30 years and was a member of CUPE 1594 from its first charter in 1975.  She was a devoted supporter of her union and a tireless worker for the good of her community, and the Scholarship aims to assist her sisters and brothers in CUPE 1594 to carry on in Jan’s footsteps.
